LONDON MARKETS. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright London, Dec. 31. Butter.—The market is dull, and prices have dropped, owing l to the arrival of 06,000 boxes of colonial butter before last Week's stocks were cleared. There aroalso large supplies of Danish. Quotations are irregular. Danish is selling at about 150s per cwt, a drop of 10s on the week; Australian, choicest salted, 4 3 to Cs lower at 13Ss to 140s, unsalted scarce at 148s to ]sos or 2s down New Zealand salted, 3s to 8s lower at M2s to 1445, unsaltcd 150 a to 152s or 2s down. Cheese. Buyers are operating strongly. New Zealand is quoted at 92s to 93s per cwt. Wheat.—The market opened quietly, and closed with prices firm ''on receipt of better reports from America. Flour.—The market is steady. Oats.—On a firm market. La, Platas afloat are quoted at 31s per quarter of 2201b. Peas and Beans.—Market firm, and prices unchanged. The Bradford market for top-making , wools is quiet, but prices are very firm. Sugar.—On a steady market American (granulated sugar ib selling at 32s 6d per cwt., the same level as a wei»k ago. I Silver.—ln bars, 25 3-10 d per ounce standard. Copper.—Standard, for cash, £B6 10s to £BO 15s per ton. Tin—Straits, for cash, £l6B per ton; forward delivery, £179. Pig-iron—Middlesbro' No. 3, 77s 9d per ton, Lead—Soft foreign, cash, £3O per ton; forward, £29 15s. Spelter—Ordinary brands, cash £9O per ton; forward, £79.
