CLASSIFYING THE MEX LIABLE TO SERVE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Dec, 31. The task of compiling the lists of men in the Dominion who are of military age lias been undertaken by the Defence Department. The Prime Minister stated to-day that a large staff hud been appointed to carry out the work, and it will be completed as quickly as possible. Lists arc being compiled from the National Register for the use of the district areas which are to carry out the recruiting campaign. The number of men between the ages of 19 and 44 years who returned registration cards' was 187,593, and these names are all to be classified according to districts, married and single men being distingnshed. The names of those willing and unwilling to serve will be included in the lists without distinction. The new scheme will be launched without del&v.
