THE ELEVENTHS STILL SHORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 3. Difficulty is still being experienced in completing the Elevenths Reinforcements, though during the past month most urgent appeals have been made to the eligible manhood of New Zealand to make up the number. The Defence Headquarters announced this morning that on New Year's Bqy the Elevenths were still over 300 men short. During the past week the South Island had not done so well as the North in sending men into camp to reduce the deficiency. A considerable spurt is also' required to be made in recruiting this week to 'furnish .the necessary number of men for the Twelfths, who are being mobilised on the 10th inst.
