HEAVY TURKISH LOSSES. BRITISH REINFORCEMENTS. Received Jan. 2, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 1. A report from General Townshend say 3 that the enemy asked for a four hours' armistice to bury their dead and remove their wounded before the fort was attacked at Christinas. Independent reports confirm the heavy Turkish losses at Ctesiphon, also during General Townshend's retreat and the recent attacks at Kutelamara. Our casualties durjig the Christmas fighting were 71 killed and 300 wounded. Reinforcements are steadily pushing up.
