The Arabia's New Zealand passengers are: Messrs Hillier, Arnold, and Longden and Mrs. Hillier. ' NOTES. From London, via Australian ports, the C. and D. liner Nereliana arrived at Auckland on Tuesday morning. The vessel protemls thence, to Napier and Wellington, and is fixed to load in New Zealand for London. The latest news from Panama states that it will probably be not less than six months before the Canal will be open to regular traffic again. It is intended to cut a temporary channel through the slide to pass through % few vessels which have been waiting since the canal was closed. After six months' time it is believed that danger of slides will be definitely overcome. The barque Antiope, which is being overhauled and refitted at Wellington, has been chartered to take, a cargo of timber from Kaipara to Melbourne. The C. and D. liner Indralema has been fixed to leave New York on February 3 for Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand ports. The steamer Minnesota, which recently sailed from Seattle for England, broke all ocean deadweight records, holding supreme rank as the greatest cargo ever taken across any ocean in all history. The chief consignments aboard the vessel were 2G,000.0001bs of wheat and barley; fish, 4,000,0001bs; lumber, 2,000,0001bs; and 120,0001bs of hops, the total deadweight cargo, Including coal, being 25,000 tons.
