THE NEAR EAST.
THE ADVANCE ON EGYPT. PREPARATIONS BEGUN. Received Dec. 23, 9.5 p.m. Rome, Dec. 22. La Tribuna states that the Turco-Ger-man expedition has begun by the despatch of several advance guard detachments for the supreme command against Egypt, and have Been installed at Pera, where Turco-German officers are working with extraordinary activity. Enormous quantities of material are leaving Constantinople, where it is attorned that the anny will be composed of 300,000 Turka- and 100,000 Arabs.
