iTHE BREACH WITH AUSTRIA, A DELICATE SITUATION. London, Dee. 20. The New York Herald states that evidence from everv word and action of the State Department shows that the situation in relation to Austria is one of extreme seriousness. Press statements are to the effect that practically every Austrian diplomatic agent in the United States is discredited and involved in the alleged plots.

MORE GERMAN PLOTS. STARTLING DISCLOSURES. New York. Dec. 20. Frederick Metzler, a, pro-German suspect, who has been arrested in connection with the anti-Ally plots, has confessed that Kocnig, director of the Ham-burg-Amerika Line, managed an agency for fomenting schemes to destroy munition works. Twenty-live men were em ployed, all reporting to Count von Papen. Metzler declared that George Fnches, a German agent, was despatched byKoenig to destroy the Welland Canal in Canada', but the plot was discovered in time.
