LIQUOR BILL AMENDMENT. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Dec. 17. In the Council a motion not to insist on the Liquor Bill amendment was negatived by 14 votes to 11. AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. Sydney, Dee. 17. In the Assembly, notice was received from the Council stating that it insisted on its amendment to the Hotel Hours' Bill. Mr. Holman announced that it was not the intention of the Government to proceed further with it. It is intended to re-approach the whole problem afresh when the House re-opens. Both Houses have adjourned to February 16.
