LONDON MARKETS. WHEAT PROSPECTS GOOD. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received Dee. 15, 5.5 p.m. o London, December 14. Wool is very animated at the fall.' recent advance. Australian wheat sellers have withdawn from the market, the reason not being given. Considerable astonishment ia expressed at the action, in view of the excellent prices obtainable and the prospects of heavy competition shortly from Argentina, which is expected to have ]fi,ooo,nno quarters for export. The general market is firm, and there is good enquiry for wheat and flour for the Mediterranean, which North America is filling. Argentina shipments of mutton are 34,000 carcases; lamb, 11,000: frozen beef, 192,000; chilled beef, 02,000. NAPIER WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Yesterday. The second series of wool sales com-1 menced this morning. The highest price ruling for fine crossbred was 17% d, compared with 19% d last month. Other classes and grades show a similar falling off. Competition amongst the front benfihers was very keen at the values set. Many lots were passed In at the highest offer. Some lots of lambs (fine) failed to raise a bid. Bradford requirements were slightly firmer and %d higher than at last sales.
