Reuter reports that King Constantine gave an audience to the diplomatic body on Saturday, and gave his personal assurances, which arc regarded as satisfactory. GREEK .ARMY WITHDRAWS. The Greek army at Landaza lias been withdrawn to Serres as a result of "the agreement with the Entente, leaving the zone between Salonika and Dairan free to the Allies' movements. The Bulgarians are within five miles of the Greek frontier, following slowly in the wake of the Allies. REFUGEES IN SALONIKA. WILL THE BULGARS INVADE GREECE? Received Dec. 14, 9.40 p.m. Salonika, Dee. 14. Refugees are streaming into Salonika, many on mattresses, in carta, carrying their possessions in handkerchiefs and baskets. SERBIAN HEROINES. A LAND OF STARVATION AND DEATH. Received Dec. 14, 9.40 p.m. Rome, Dec. 14. A traveller depicts Albania as a land of starvation and death. The mountain passes are strewn with the corpses of Sert)ian women and children, hundreds of whom voluntarily lay down to die, to enable the soldiers to have food. Their heroism is the most wonderful episode of the terrible Balkan tragedy.

A RUSSIAN SUCCESS. , Received Dee. 14, 7.30 p.m. Bucharest, Dec. 13: A story of the Black Sea engagement says .that the Russians torpedoed and damaged , the Goeben, and sank the gunboats Bourakreis and Malatia, also a submarine. A VESSEL ASHORE. TOWED OFF UNDER FIRE. Paris, December 13. A British cargo boat ran ashore on the Belgian coast. German seaplanes tried to sink her with bombs, but the Allies' aeroplanes routed them. French tor-pedo-boats towed off the cargo vessel under fire of a German battery.

A FRENCH HERO. GOES NOBLY TO DEATH. London, December 13. The Daily Chronicle's Salonika correspondent states that trustworthy information announces the extraordinary self-martyrdom of a French submarine officer. When the Turks desired to exhibit a captured French submarine to Turkish engineers, who were unacquainted with her internal secrets, the authorities sent for a French officer, who on learning of his mission, bade his fellowprisoners "Good-bye," amid suppressed shouts of "Vive La Patrie!" While demonstrating to six superior Turkish officers, the Frenchman managed to start the engines. The vessel sped away and dived, and was not seen again,
