A SOLICITOR'S CLAIM. David J-lutclien (Mr. A. H. Johnstone) proceeded against Benoni White to recover £2 17s (id, for services rendered. The case was defended, and the plaintiff and, subsequently, Alexander 11. Johnstone, were subjected to protracted cross-examination by the defendant. The claim was based 011 services rendered bV plaintiff in an action taken by defendant, while defendant's defence was that a compromise was made in his action without his authority. Judgment was given for the amount claimed, £2 17s (id, and £1 10s costs. GOODS AXD WORK. A. 1!. Waldic (Mr. A. R. StandishJ proceeded against William Farrelly (Mr. H. R. Hilling), claiming £3l 14s 3d for goods sold and work done. The evidence was not completed when the Court adjourned until ten o'clock this monnisr.
