THE KAHIKA. The Kahika arrived from Lyttclton yesterday morning with 150 tons" of general cargo. The vessel also had on hoard six tramcar bodies for the New Plymouth Borough Council. It is expected that she will leave early to-day for Westport. NOTES. Now at Melbourne, the Shaw-Savill liner Athenic is expected to leave Sydney for Auckland on December 22. She is due at the latter port on December 27, and will commence Homeward loading there. The liner will arrive at Wellington about January 6 and will sail for London on January 12. A cablegram from Sydney stated that the Union Company's cargo steamer Waihemo left that port for Wellington. The Wellington office advises that the vessel is not coming to that port, but is proceeding to San Francisco via Suva. She will load at the Pacific Slope for New Zealand and Australian ports. It is announced that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic, which is to leave London on December 24 for New Zealand ports, will, after discharge, not leave Wellington for London on March !) of next year, as previously arranged. Tho vessel's future movements are at present indefinite. The lonic should reach Wellington about February S.
