/ WINTER AT ANZAC. MORE CLOTHING NEEDED. ANOTHER MAIL LOST. Received Dec. 13, 9.5 pjn. Sydney, Dec. 13. Captain Bean, cabling on November 28, said the Anzacs' first experience of snow caught the troops unprepared. They are still without sheepskins, and warm hand- and foot-gear will be acceptable. Although the troops are well provided for in many respects, comforts are not easily procurable, and without these the campaign might become almost a second Crimea. Besides the lo3s of the outgoing Christmas mail a large incoming mail has been sunk. FRENCH FRONT BOMBARDED. J Paris, Dec. 12. A communique says: The Turkish artillery bombarded our first line at Gallipoli with great violence, especially near the mouth of the Kereves.
