DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. By Telegraph,—Press • Association. Auckland, Dec. 10. At the inquest 011 Joseph 0. Milieieli, an Austrian boy, aged seven, who died while under an anaesthetic administered for an operation, the Coroner found that death was due to an unusual gland. The anaesthetic bad been properly and skilfully administered.

AN OLD MAN'S DEATH. Invercargill, Dec. 11. At an inquest held at Winton regarding the death of an old man named Peter Leicliman, the evidence showed that deceased called Daniel Casey a German. Casey struck him 011 the head, the blow causing unconsciousness, and he died two weeks later. The coroner found that death resulted directly or indirectly from the blow. Casey was arrested and charged with manslaughter. K\OOICED DOWN BY A TRAIN. Wellington, Dee. 11. A woman named Mrs. M. Mitchell, of Invercargill, was knocked down by a train at Petone this afternon, and so seriously hurt that ber recovery is doubtful. The injured woman, who is about sixty years of age, was on a visit to Petone. and was crossing from one platform to the other when a special train with two engines ran through the station, and knocked the woman down, breaking her arm and a leg, and she also received severe injury to her head.
