ECHO OF A WRECK.
STAR OF CANADA SALVAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night The Supreme Court to-day heard fill* tlier evidence in the Star of Canada wreck case, wherein J. ,T. Niven and Co., Napier, claimed from the Salvage Association of London £7007 in connection with the salvage operations at Gisborne in 1912. The sum of 11/ flO is also claimed as damages for breach of agreement and for interest. In the alternative the plaintiffs ask the Court to order the valuation of the salvaged gear, et«. While denying most of the plaintiff*' allegations, defendants are prepared to pay £4OOO into Court in settlement of the claim.
