COMPENSATION COURT.

AX APPLICATION SUCCEEDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Compensation Court to-day heard the claim of Frank Girdler against the Blackball Coal Company, on the grounds that lie was totally incapacitated as the result of being struck by a coal basket. The Company paid 30s weekly as compensation for a year, and then discontinued payments, contending a settlement should be made by the Court. Tim company also contended that Wortley'u incapacity was due to a previous accident, whereof defendants only lately became aware.

The Court awarded a lump sum of £IOO.
