GENERAL WAR COUNCIL A MEETING IN PARIS. Paris, Dec. 6. The first meeting of the General War Council for co-ordinate military operations among the Allies was held here, General Joffre presiding. CO-OPERATION AMONG THE ALLIES. SIX NATIONS REPRESENTED. STATEMENT BY MR. ASQUITH.

Received Dec. 7, 5.55 p.m. London, Dec. 6. In the House of Commons Mr. Asquith made an important announcement. He said that arrangements for closer military co-operation had been completed regarding France, and were under consideration in connection with our other Allies. It was not in the public interest to announce the details of these arrangements, as they might be of value to the enemy. England, France, Russia, Italy, Serbia, and Belgium were represented at the Council.
