BROTHER'S' FATAL QUARREL. By Cable.—Press Association —Copyright Melbourne, Dee. 2. A tragedy took place at Tongai, where two brothers. John and Alexander Young, were discovered wounded. It appears that tliey quarrelled and Alexander shot John and then attempted suicide. When assistance arrived he implored them to save his brother John, who has since died. COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY. - Sydney, Dee. 1. The manager of the. Colonial Sugar Company explains that the refineries have ample supplies of raw sugar for months to come. The restrictions apply only to speculative orders.
WHEAT HARVEST SCHEME. Sydney, Des. 1. Mr. Hughes has announced that the Associated Banks, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank/are prepared to finance the wheat harvest scheme on a basis of 5 per cent, interest. SCARCITY OF BUTTER. In the Assembly, Mr. Hol'man stated that the Government was against the introduction of the totalisator, but would allow a private member to iifEroduce a Bill.
