BOWLING.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE, A meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Bowling Centre was held in the New Plymouth Club's pavilion yesterday morning when the following members were present: Messrs W. A. Parkinson (chairman), J. D. Sole, A. K. Smart, M. Eraser, S. Smith, and 0. N, Firth (secretary). The chairman explained that the Meeting had been called for the purpose of arranging matters in connection with the forthcoming annual tournament to be held in January next, and also to elect trustees and a secretary and treasurer for the Taranaki, Bowlers' Wounded Soldiers' Fund.

On the motion of Mr, Smart, seconded by Ml'. Sole, it was decided that the tournament be held as already arranged at the annual meeting, on January 25, 20, 27 and "28, and that circulars be issued to the various clubs throughout the North Island.

It was decided that the tournament be held on the three town greens, that entries close on Tuesday, January 11, 1&10, that the entrance fee be f2 per rink, and that the net profits of the tournament be devoted to-the Bowlers' Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Messrs A. K. Smart, J. D. Sole. S. Smith, and the secretary were appointed a committee to arrange drawings, draw up programme, and to generally arrange details in connection with the tournament.

It was decided to notify all clubs that under the Dominion Association's rules no tapes may be used for marking out rinks, and this must be discontinued for the future.

The Auroa Bowling Club applied for affiliation to the Centre.—Granted. Messrs. W. A. Parkinson, M. Fraser, and ■!. D. Sole were appointed trustees of the Taranaki Bowlers' Wounded Soldiers" Fund, and Mr. 0. N. Firth was appointed secretary and treasurer.

Tt was arranged that the Champion Singles Tournament be played in the last week in March, date and green to be fixed at a later date. Mr. Parkinson, the president, offered to donate a trophy for the Champion Singles Tournament.
