N.Z. TROTTING ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held this afternoon. Before proceeding with the ordinary business, the president, Mr. P. Seiig, referred to the death of Mr. F. H. Pyne, who, he said, had been for many years associated with the kindled sport of racing, and had acted as chairman of the committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club, and also as its treasurer. Mr. Pyne had been a good citizen, as well as a good sportsman and president. He moved a resolution expressing regret at Mr. Pyne's death, and sympathy with his family. The motion was seconded 'by Mr. Nieholl and carried in silence.

The West Australian Trotting Association wrote advising that If. J. Robinson (of Bridgetown, W.A.) had been disqualified witli the ponv geidling in that State in the name of ''Tim Tracey" for life, for ringing in, and the disqualification was endorsed. The action of the stewards of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, at enquiries held regarding the running of Mushroom and Persuader at its November meeting, was endorsed. The president read telegrams which had passed between the Association and the Forburv Park Trotting Clnb in reference to the proposed match between Kmmeline, Our Thorpe, and Country Belle. He had considered the matter of such importance that he had taken the advice of the Association's solicitor, whose opinion was to the effect that such a match could not be run in addition to a programme of eight other events. On the motion of Mr. Kitchingham, it was decided to make an entry in the suggestion book with a view to considering the advisableness of altering the rules to meet such a ease, and also to approaching Parliament to have the necessary amendment made in the Gaming Act.
