ENTRIES CLOSE TO-NIGHT. A final reminder is given to those interested that entries for all events at the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting close to-night at 9 p.m. In conjunction with the Stratforr, Racing Club's Nqw Year meeting four days racing within a week offers sufficient inducement to not only Taranaki horseowners, but outsiders as well, to nominate their horses freely.. Entrance fees for the Taranaki meeting are set down at the nominal price of 1 sov. The programme is framed on a liberal basis, the chief events being the Christmas Handicap, of 200 sovs., l'/i miles; Plying Handicap, 150 sovs.. 6 furlongs; and New Plymouth Handicap, 150 sovg,, 1 mile and 110 yards. No stake is less than 100 sovs. Mr. Geo. Morse will declare the handicaps, and the starting will be in the capable hands of Mr. Tom Cameron. Mr. E. P.
