UMPIRE PICTURES. At the head of a pleasing programme is a .sympathetic, drama by Vitagraph, entitled "Sunshine and Shadows." False accusations aricl spiteful persecutions are forgotten in each others' devotion. Their happiness is invaded by the shadows of the past, but are soon dispelled in the sunshine of their reunited love. As supporting subjects, "In the heart of the Woods," "The Three Roses" (dramas), The Australian Gazette, two comedies, and a war topical, ''With the French Army in Lorraine" were shown. To-morrow's attractions at the Empire are headed by Lubin's best production entitled "Hated at Ten Million Dollars." The supporting items are well worth a place on the new programme. Plan of reserved seals may be seen at Wolby's. ROYAL PICTURES. Lubin's drama, "The Cypher Key,'' is the star attraction on Saturday's new programme. Here is a swiftly moving story of love and adventure, with dramatic situations that grip and hold an audience from start to finish. The new Australian Gazette is a very interesting number. "Scenes in Swedish Norland" provide splendid animated views. "The Worthier Man," a drama by the Vitagraph company shows that it is well to know the character of the man who is to assume the responsibility of being a husband. A warning to nil who are contemplating matrimony, to look before they leap. In this presentation you will see how a man deceived one trusting woman, and would have maried another, whom he would have made a victim of his duplicity. She learned the truth, and was only too willing to trust her fnti"'fi happiness to the worthier man. Two excellent comedies are included in the new collection. Seats may be recerved at Hoffmann's.
