NEW ZEALAND NURSES. MORE TO BE ENROLLED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Public Health, who has charge of the nursing service, has approved of the enrolment of 125 additional nurses for the New Zealand Army Nursing Corps. The total number enrolled will then be 344. This number will include the draft for the New Zealand hospital at Walton-on-Thames, where only fully qualified nurses will be taken in. In a report to the Minister, Miss H. Mac Lean, officer-in-charge of the nurses, states that there are enough nurses now on the list to replace the ten , nurses who were lost with the transport Marquette.
There are now 219 nurses enrolled, including the nine who were reported missing after the sinking of the Marquette. Four are in Samoa, 153 in Egypt, 12 with the Australian forces in Egypt, 14 on the Maheno, 20 on transport duty, 8 at Trentham camp, 2 at Wellington hospital, 2 at Greytown, and 3 at Tauherinikau, while one nurse is at Clifton Terrace hospital.
