INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) In spite of Saturday's rough weather, the Red Cross Mart did remarkably good business, due to the Ladies' Committees energetic efforts and the co-operation of the public. TEe items are: Red Cross Mart receipts, £ll 5s 2d; sale of eggs (Miss Nutting), 10s; donations, Norfolk Road Dance Committee, £1 12s; Mrs. S. Death, £1 Is; other donations, 17s 6d; sale of flowers (Mrs. C. 0. Roberts), 2s; total £ls 7s 8d In all probability the Bishop of Auckland will conduct a meeting for men only in St Andrew's Church next Sunday afternoon. The recent heavy winds have played havoc with the orchards and vegetable gardens. On Sunday morning, a lot of timber was strewn all over the road and 'footpaths near Mr. Surrey's timber yard, the wind having blown the boards right over his fence. The Borough Council are slacking off their street formation and metalling work for a short time.
