REJECTED RECRUITS. STATEMENT BY MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT. By Telegraph—'Piess Association. Wellington, Yesterday. In a statement to a Post representative to-day regarding the rejection of men at Trentliani who have previously ben passed as lit. Surgeon-General Henderson explained that this was due largely to the following causes: —Men impersonating others passed as lit, the development of illnesses after the preliminary district examination, men previously rejected from cainp concealing their defects and being passed again into camp; also to the inexperience of some doctors as to the requirements for recruits.

Surgeon-General Henderson pointed out that the percentage of rejects from such causes was very small, only amounting to a little more than one per cent. Steps have been taken to reduce this as far as possible by informing examiners that they must strictly adhere to the regulations -and also by preventing impersonation. .MAY MORN OAMP. Wellington, Yesterday. Surgeon-Cleneral Henderson, in a statement to-day, said that, as the result of the recent heavy and continuous rain, the May Morn camp was certainly muddy, but this was only natural, and t\> be expected in any temporary camp in the existing weather conditions. In fact, it was not so muddy as might have been expected. He could find nothing insanitary in camp or of a nature predisposing to disease. As originally intended. the camp would he vacated early next week, when shooting would lie done at Trentham by two battalions. At present there was only one per cent, of sickness, and these were all minor eases. SEVENTHS ARRIVE AT Wellington, Yesterday. Cable advice has been received that the Seventh Reinforcements have arrived safely at their destination.
