EMPIRE PICTURES. The splendid programme to be submitted to-night will surely attract much attention from picture-lovers. The eorn-cdy-lilm from the Vitagraph studios, entitled ''War," holds pride of place. It is easy to understand the success of this picture in America, and even here, where we hardly understand neutrality, it has an irresistible appeal that evokes the heartiest of laughs at the war-like spirit and antics of the two heavy-weight belligerents and their respective families. The rest of the programme is uniformly good. A Keystone comedy, "Mabel Won and Lost," and an Edison gem, '"lt May be You," provide further bright comedy, whilst ''The Quality of Mercy" and ' The Cornet" are pictures that appeal to the deeper emotions. A particularly interesting "Graphic" nf up-to-date events, and an industrial subject, ''Cigar Making," complete an exceptionally strong programme. Seats may be reserved at theatre; 'phone 365.
