MOA SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION.
The adjourned meeting of the above was held on Saturday last. Present: Messrs Simpson (Durham), Brittain (Waingona), Codd (Dudley), Henwood and Taylor Lincoln), and Sutherland and Messenger (Inglewood). The chairman explained the circumstances that had prevented the meeting being held earlier. The annual report and balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £1 13s, was then dealt with. Mr. S. G. Smith, chairman of the executive, gave an interesting account of the work of the executive for the benefit of all schools, explaining that the work of the technical department was receiving much support and he hoped for further extension througn the Association's efforts. The visit of the Minister for Education was touched upon, as also the need for redoubled efforts to bring about solid combination of all country schools. The work of the last conference also come under review, and Mr. Smith concluded an interesting little speech in connection with what had been done in regard to agriculture. 'Mr. Dolby (New Plymouth), also gave an interesting account of the Association's' progress and aims, and ?tre?sed the importance of strong combination of school committees. A good deal of discussion ensued amongst those present upon educational matters in general, several anomalies pertaining to the work of school committees being considered. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Messrs. Dolby and Smith for attending.
