TATARAIMAKA.

(From a Correspondent.) A very successful euchre party and dance waa held for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, in the local schoolroom, on Friday last. The winner of the ladies' prize was Mrs. F. Jury, and the gent.'s prize was won by Mr. R. Morris, of Oakura. The booby prizes were won by Miss Ifaher and Mr. J. Duggan. All the prizes were donated. The ladies' consisted of a pair of silver butter dishes, donated by Messrs Murdoekand Cordon, who also acted as M's.C. and carried out their duties in a most capable manner. The gents' prize was a razor strop, donated by Mr. F. Cowling, who has enlisted and boon accepted for the front. "We all wish him good luck, and feel sure he will do his duty manfully when the time comes. Excellent music was supplied by Mr. Barnett (piano), and Mr. Hawker (violin), both of New Plymouth. An extra was played by Miss Eva. The enjoyment of the evening was added to by the following: Mr. Lacey (recitation), Mrs, Desmond (song), Mr. Murdock (song, encored). Mr. B. Wisncwski gave a song in the Chinese dialect and evoked considerable laughter. A pianoforte duet by the .Misses Clarice and Lina Honeyfield was pleasing, and a song by Mr. Hawker was encored. The committee desire to thank the following ladies for their assistance: 'Misses C. and M. Linn, C. and L. Honeyfield, G. Anderson, Hjbcton, and Mrs. Moss; also Mr. Roebuck, who carted the supper free. The National Anthem concluded the evening. The next concert and dance to bo held in the school will take place on December 3, and is being arranged by Mr. Barnett. The nett proceeds will be given to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, and it is hoped that people will patronise it and make it a success.
