CATCHING RECRUITS.
THE AUSTRALIAN WAY. Bathurst, Oct. 30. The Cooees marched out of Yetholme for Wallerawang this morning with an additional six men. As the result of last night's appeal at a meeting round a bonfire in the school ground four young men came forward. Then a Bathurst resident, hearing that two of Ms -sons were with the Cooees, hastened out of Bathurst, caught the snowball a few miles out, was examined on the road, and took his place in the ranks alongside his sons, amidst cheering from the Cooees. The sixth recruit was a tramp. Tic was met on the road.
"Come on!" shouted the Cooees in chorus. "There's room for you." The tramp hesitated. The Cooees became more insistent in their arging, and a few minutes Inter the tramp threw down his billy, and after being examined, signed on to fight for his King and country. His welcome from the Oootes was indeed enthusiastic.
