MINISTER FOR EDUCATION.
THE VISIT TO TARANAKI, - TO-DAY'S TOUR. The Minister for Education (the Hon. J A. Hanan) spent a busy day in New Plymouth yesterday visiting a number of schools. On completing his tour late in the afternoon, the Minister met a number of school teachers and, in an informal way, discussed educational matters with them. In the evening Mr. Hanan, accompanied by Mr. H. Okey, M.P. attended the railway staff's concert at the Theatre Royal and before leaving he gave a brief patriotic address.
This morning at nine o'clock, the Minister will leave New Plymouth by motor-car for Stratford, and he will be accompanied by Mr. H. Okev, M.P., Mr H. Trimble (chairman of tiic Taranaki Education Board), nnd the Rev. A. B. Chappcll. The party will visit the Huifangi, Inglewood and Norfolk Road Schools and, if time permits, will also Stop at Tariki and Midhirst. It is purposed to reach Stratford soon after midday, and after lunch the Minister will visit the Stratford School. In the evening, Mr. Hanan will receive deputations and to-morrow morning he will leave for the South by the mail train.
