MINISTER FOR EDUCATION.

ARRIVES AT MEW PLYMOUTH TO-NIGHT. The Minister for Education (the Hon. J. A. Hanan), will arrive in New Plymouth by the mail train to-night, and will remain here until Friday, when lie leaves for Stratford. The Minister will be accompanied by his private secretary (Mr. iF M. Sherwood). 'After dinner to-night the Minister will meet deputations, at the White Hart Hotel, from the Taranaki Education Board, and the High School Board, each body having several mutters to place before him. A deputation from "the Ta/ranaki Teachers' Association will also wait on Mr. Hanan in regard to temperance teaching in schools. To-morrow the Minister will visit the Boys' High School and the Girls' High School, and the site for the new Girl's School. The public -schools in the town will also be visited.
