For the former Downea took 4 wickets for 9 and Eekford 2 for 0. Dunedin (138 for 4 wickets) beat Albion (131). St. Kilda (111) beat Carisbrook (101), batting two men short. For Carisbrook Siedeberg made 44. Auckland, Nov. 6. [ The cricket season opened to-day in ivery windy weather. Results: —University 115 (Turnbotts 6 wickets for 22) v. Parnell 04 for 5 wickets. Grafton 120 (Robinson 36) v. Ponsonby 126 for 2 wickets (F. Taylor 73 not out). Eden 343 for 7 wickets (Brook-Smith 140, Hemus 102) v. North Shore.
