THE PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
URUTI'S EFFORTS. „ The secretary of Uruti's Soldiers' Day function writes:—"Your report was quite accurate of Soldier's Day, save that you inserted the word 'not' before 'very satisfactory.' That was, of course, an error, as really the result far surpassed our most sanguine expectations, and was indeed a most wonderful effort for such a small place as Uruti. 11' you will please put, in rather an emphatic way that it was really exceedingly satisfactory, I will be very much obli'ged. We hope to have about £IOO to hand to the Red Cross, By passing it through the general secretary of the North Taranaki Patriotic Ijeague we still get it credited to Uruti, and the Red Cross Fund of the Victoria League make audi magnificent uie of the money."
