INGLEWOOD.
RED CROSS DAY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Last Saturday was observed as Red Cross Day, when a very good sum was raised. The arrangements were made and controlled entirely by the Ladies' Patriotic Committee. Fifteen schools were written to by the secretary, but only seven have, so far, responded; it is hoped that the remaining eight will do as well as those who have already sent in then- collections. A Red Cross Mart was held in Mr. A. Gamlin's shop, where all kinds of gifts were sold. As many country people did not know of the mart, it will be open again nest Saturday for the receiving and the disposing of gifts. The collections were as follows: —Inglewood School £5, Kaimata School £2, Norfolk Road School £1 3s 6d, Durham Road School £l, Dudley Road School 10s, Inglewood Convent School 4s, Ratapiko School 3s 3d. Donations:—Miss Morgan £l, Mrs. H. B. Curtis £l, Mrs. Bowler 7s fld, Mrs. Dixon ss, Mrs. A. J. Hynes ss, Messrs J. Bullard 10s, G. Young £l, E.
