Last month the body of a fisherman, William Puree), was found at Camden Haven in the river roped to an anchor, There wert indications of ill-treatment. Deceased's mate, James Piper, has been committed for trial on a charge of murder. Evidence showed that at the end of August neighbours beard quarrelling in Piper's hed, and Purcel was not again seen. Piper explained that he had left the distriot.
