LAWN TENNIS.
XEW (PLYMOUTH CLUB. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was held on Saturday night. Dr, Leatham presided over a good attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet, which have been published, woe adopted. The following officers were elected: President, Dr. Leatham; vice-president, Dr. Fookes; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. H Stocker; lion, auditor, Mr. J. 0 Nicholson; committee, Messrs J, C, Nicholson, P. Robertson, E. B. Davics, A. R. Ryder, and E. Griffiths; ladies' secretary, Mrs. Penn; ladies'committee, Mesdames C. T. Mills, H. Stoaker, G. Keb- ' bell, P. S. Johns, and Misses Simpson and C. Leatham. The offer of Mr. Eric Shaw to assist the secretary was accepted. The chairman reported that the club had acquired a property costing £2OO adjoining the tennis courts. The property would enable another tennis court to he provided next year. It was reported that the lawns were in good order and given a spell of fine weather, they will be open for play next Saturday. Votes of thanks were passed to the press and the ladies.
