EMPIRE PICTURES. Circus dramas have afvvays proved a - tractive picture subjects. The Nordisk Company's latest production of this kind follows the general order in this respect. It is entitled "Children of the Circus," and is included in the new programme introduced at the Empire last Saturday. If anything, {his story of circus life Is superior to those previously sent out from the Nordisk Company's headquarters. It is magnificently mounted, beautifully colored and admirably acted. This was the prevailing opinion among the crowds who saw the film on Saturday afternoon and evening, and it is certain to result in a packed house to-night. Mdlle. Baptista, the famous horsewoman, is featured in the cast. New items from the war zone are screened in the Gaumont Graphic, while Pathe Frercs have sent along special views of the Zeppelin raid on Paris on March 21—a film full of interest. Most; of the damage caused by this Zeppelin- was in the suburbs, the roof of one of the buildings being lifted a distance of over 150 yards by the force of a bomb explosion. One of the fastest Keystone comedies seen here for some time completes the bill. Tt is called "Fatty and Mabel's Married Life," and as will be surmised, the leading parts are played by those clever laugh-makers, Mabel Normand and Roscoe Arlmckle. The two play some amusing jokes on each other, in the endeavor to represent married life as it is. THE KOYAL. Six films of exceptional interest adorn next Saturday's programme of Royal Pictures. "Droppington's Family Tree," by the Keystone Company is featured as a star comedy. In this 2000 ft of fun Chester Conklin, alias '-Walrus," alias "Droppington,'' gets himself into a Chinese tangle, firstly from his son for taking the aforesaid son's sweetheart, and secondly for allowing himself to ho seen with the beforementionod sweetheart by Mrs. Dropplngton. Then the fun begins. Mr. Droppington finds himself between Devon street and the deep sea and plunges bravely forth, rcgularlv getting into it "up to his neck." Other films are: "Hearts United" (Reliance star drama), "McQuado and the Traffic Squad" (Edison drama), "Two l>y Two" (comedy), "Sea of Marmora" (scenic) and the latest Gazette.
