WINTER AT GALLIPOLI.
WHAT THE TROOPS NEED. By Telegraph.—Piresa Association. Wellington, October 14. Recently the Minister for Defence has been in communication with the Imperial authorities and with the staff at Gallipoli regarding the needs of the New Zealand troops during the winter campaign that now seems to have become inevitable. He stated to-day that he had been advised what the requirements of the soldiers were likely to be. The troops would want Cardigan jackets, mittens, etc., to assist them to face the ."winter blasts. They would also need south-westers, waterproofs, and oilskins of suitable colors, as protection against the wet, and there would be a demand for trench boots.
