NEW PLYMOUTH DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.
The official opening of the above club's shooting season took place yesterday. The weather conditions were very unfavorable, light rain falling nearly all the afternoon, with a tricky rear wind, consequently the scores wore below the average. Only ten men completed the three ranges. The match was between teams chosen by the President and De-puty-President, and resulted in a tie, both sides scoring 378. The presentation of prizes which was to have taken place was postponed until next week's parade on Thursday. Afternoon tea was provided under the supervision of Mcsdamcs Bruce and Ramson.
