LAWN TENNIS.
THE PARK CLUB, The annual meeting of the Park lawn Tennia Club was held last night. The retiring president (Mr. W. Amibury) presided oyer a, amall attendance.
There was no report, but a balancesheet was presented showing a debit balance of £ll6 7s 9d. The chairman stated that the club had had a very successful year, and there was a big increase in membership. The club's overdraft had been reduced to £2l. Nine members of-the club..had been accepted for the front.
The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. R. J. White; vicepresidents, Messrs W. A. Collis, W. P. Sandford, and J. Scanlon; committee, Messrs G. Grey, W. Ambury, T. Healy, A. Ambury, and W. H. Broome; secretary, Mr. F. C. Tribe; treasurer, Mr. H. J. M. Wells; ladies' committee, Mesdamcs Hill, Scanlon, Tribe, Collis, Hodder, with power to add three other ladies; auditor, Mr. P. W. Sandford. The appointment of a croquet committee was left to the croquet players. ■ The subscriptions were fixed the same as last year, namely, £2 for men and £1 5s for ladies.
The opening day was arranged for October 28.
Votes of thanks were passed to the secretary and the caretaker.
