THE IDOL OF THE HUNS. CELEBRATING HIS BIRTHDAY. Received Oct. 4, 7 p.m. Berlin, Oct. 3, General Hindenburg's birthday was celebrated throughout Germany. ' Newspapers eulogised the deliverer of East Prussia. Thousands of school children assembled round a colossal wooden statue, in front of the Reie: tag, ami hammered nails into their idol, singingpatriotic songs, while Zeppelins and aeroplanes paid homage to the statue.
