HEADQUARTERS INSTRUCTIONS.

THE NINTH REINFORCEMENTS. The soldiers will entrain at the NewPlymouth railway station on October 11 at 7 p.m., to' proceed to Trentham Camp by a special troop train. All public send'offs to the soldiers must be so arranged that at least five minute's before the arrival of the train the soldiers must be drawn up on the platform ready to entrain. The only articles the soldier will take into camp are shaving, cleaning, and toilet gear, change of underclothing, socks, and overcoat. The last three articles are necessary in case of wet weather and circumstances arising in camp which may temporarily delay the issue of the Government kit. These articles will be returned by the camp authorities to each soldier's home as soon as he receives his kit in camp. As there appears'to be some misunderstanding on the part of patriotic committees, parents, and others, who are so kindly supplying clothing, etc., to the members of the Expeditionary Force, the following is a list of articles supplied by the Government to each soldier when he arrives in camp: —Uniform clothing: 2 jackets, 1 felt hat, 1 forage cap, 1 pair of trousers, 1 pair puttees, 1 groat coat, 2 pairs boots, 1 denim suit, I pair canvas shoes. Personal clothing: 1 kit bag, 2 blankets, 1 oil sheet, 2 shirts (working), 2 shuts (under), 2 pair pants (under), 1 pair braces, 3 pair socks, 2 towels, 1 jersey (khaki), 1 cholera belt, 1 holdall (containing knife, fork, and spoon), 1 hussif (filled), 1 plate, 1 pannikin, 1 sea kit bag. Every soldier despatched will receive a special notice, from this office prior to his departure, setting out the place where he is to entrain, the hour of entraining, and the necessary articles to take to CAmp. The troops on this occasion arc being despatched to camp in two lots. The first lot proceeds on October 11, and the second lot on October 18.
