Giru did a round 03 the tan in 2min 12sec, 2sec faster than the previous record. Cagou and Flash of Steel covered a mile in lmin 42sec, the best of the morning. Reputation lan ten furlongs easily, the last six in lmin 18sec. Colonel Soult covered six furlongs in lmin ISsec,; and Mountain Knight ten furlongs in 2min lOsec, the last eight in lmin 43sec. Athenic covered six furlongs in lmin 16y 3 sec, and Housewife ten furlongs in 2min 14% sec. Woorak ran a mile easily in lmin 44% sec. Wallace Isinglass easily beat Radnor in a round, which occupied 2min 22% sec. Carlita beat Ulva's Isle, on Uie course proper, over ten furlongs, in 2min 12% sec.
OPIMAKiE .RACING CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting was held in the Club Hotel on Saturday evening, Mr. M. J. Brennan presiding. Other members present were: Messrs J. M. Hickey, G. Newsliam, J. Young, E. Malcolm, D. and 3. O'Sullivan, B. Campbell, junv.. H. Pifcama, D. Campbell, A. Clark, W. C. Dudley, J. IP. Burton, E. Marshall, F. Hoskin and the secretary (Mr. P. Riley). The report stated that totalisator receipts were £13,182, as against £1,1,875, an increase of £1307. Additions had been made to the back of the grandstand in the shape of a large pantry for the caterers, and a ladies' waiting-room, with all conveniences, had been erected. Both rooms had been connected with a water .service. The racecourse property had been leased to Mr. S. Forsyth for five years at 28s per acre. The balance-sheet showed members' subscriptions to be £BO 17s, nominations and acceptances £197 17s, booth £6O, correct cards £32, lawn gate £165 15s, course gates £143 19s, totalisator commissions £1385, rents £BB. Expenditure: Stakes £760, totalisator commission £1.98, secretary £6O, handicapper £lO, detective £lO, band £l2, advertising and printing £62 lis, improvement account £l4B lis 9d, labor and attendants £92 lis Od, donations £2O, bank charges £23 12s lOd, cash in hand 15s 3d. The balance of assets over liabilities amounted to "£3OOO. The chairman moved the adoption of the balance-sheet—Carried. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, M;. A. Good; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Clarke, J. P. Burton, M. J. Brennan, E. S. Forsyth, R. P. Malcolm, A. R. Moore, C. h. Gaapar, J. M. Hickey, E. Brunette; judge, Mr. W. B. Young; starter, Mr. Morse; timekeepers, Messrs Gibson and Stohr; treasurer, Mr. A. Clarki; hon. surgeon, Dr. Barron; committee, Messrs W. C. Dudley, M. J. Brennan, J. M. Hickey, J. Young, J. P. Burton, D. Campbell, E. S. Forsyth, F. Julian, A. Clarice. Mr. Of. J. Brennan was elected chairman of the committee.
Messrs. S. Richards, M. Fleming, M. Heath, A. J. Brennan and Hik&ka, junr., were elected members of the club.
