Also started: Namur, Miss Clements, Orlando, Record Breaker, Trickery, Sir Musketry, Pall Mall, La Dean, Lady Edith, Martial Air, Tango. Tango dislodged his rider and took no part in the race. Won by a length and a half, a length separating second and third. Trickery close up fourth. Time, Imin 31scc. DOMINION DAY HACK HANDICAP. —Montana, 0.3, 1; Maltegarde, 7.T, »; Plunder, 8.11, 3. Also started: Martyress, Sir Miraculous, Borsil, Roumania, Blue Thread, Squadron, Mon. tana and Maltegarde . had the field beaten, the former coming away in the straight and winning comfortably by a lengfih and a half, a length separating second and third. Parawanui led for the greater part of the distance, hut entering the straight for the second time was replaced by Naupata and Master Strowan, the latter securing the verdict by three parts of a length.
