TAXATION BILLS.
NOT YET READY. . ' § (By Telegraph.—Special to Daily New*.)] Wellington, Last Night. A positive statement that the eagerly expected taxation Bills ( were not yet ready for presentation to Parliament was made in the House of Represent* atives tbis evening by the Minister for Finance. In reply to a question put by Mr. t. H. Sidey, the Prime Minister said that the Government's proposals would be submitted as soon as possible; ,on Tuesday next. In the meantime, the House would be occupied with consideration of Bills which one newspaper had described as "small goods." Sir Joseph Ward followed with the statement that hon, members who reckoned that the Bills ought to have been d.own before this, did not know what they were talking about. Mr. 0. WittyiAt any other thae they would have been down before this. Sir Joseph Ward: No doubt the hon. gentleman would have been able to get them down earlier, but it must be remembered that there has never been anything like these Bilk before. As a matter of fact the Bills are not ready y«t.
