MESSAGE FROM HER NEW CAPTAIN By Tel«jr»ph.~Preo Aisoeiatiet. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Internal Affairs has received, through the High Commissioner, a. cable from Captain John F. E. Green, who has succeeded Captain Lionel Halsey in command of the battle-cruiser New Zealand. "I hare the tonor to inform you that Captain Lionel Halsey, having been appointed to the Iron Duke as Commodore of the first class and Captain of the Fleet, I have taken aver command of H.M.S. New Zealand in his place. Having followed the history of the ship since she was first offered to the Mother Country, I fully appreciate the honor and responsibility which has been conferred on me by their Lordships and I can assure you that I shall do my utmost to maintain the high state of efficiency in which I have found the ship, that she may be a credit to the Dominion and a worthy response to the patriotism and foresight of her people on the next occasion of her being tried."
