SCULLING.
THE WEBB-HANNAN MATCH. Special to Daily News. Wanganui, Yesterday. In connection with the Wcbb-Hannan sculling race, to be rowed next Friday week, both men have put in some good work during the last few days, and from all appearances they should both be m excellent condition on the day. Both men expect to strip at about list. 81b, so that there will be little or no difference in weight. Hannan. loois as fit as hands could make him, aim appears to bo very confident. Ke has been doing a lot of solid work lately, and some sprinting. He does not seem to be extra quick at beginning, but ho can keep going at a solid pace all the way. This is his strong point. He is confident of putting up a big race, and has hopes of wearing Webb down by solid plugging. The local i.i.'.an is rowing very neatly, and has apparently lost none of his old pi? ce. He put in a fine bit of rowing today over ft mile and a half, and if lie can keep up the pace over the full course on the day he will put up or.c of his best performances next Friday week. Thii nice will start about noon, on a full t:d».
