AT GALLIPOLI. ffURKS ALMOST EXHAUSTED. (Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, Sept, 13. A French official communique states that news from Constantinople reports that, in consequence of the terrible losses at Gallipoli, tho morale of the troops is much impaired, and in order to improve it the authorities have decided to distribute copies of the Koran as igifts from the Sultan during the feast of Bairam, THE LANDING AT SUVLA. A GERMAN VERSIQN. Received Sept. 14, 10 p.m. Amsterdam, Sept. , 14. The Hamburger Fremnenblatt sneers at the failures of oversea contingents at the Dardanelles, and says that since the' Turkish entry into the war the world has witnessed nothing but Turkish heroism, and the Turks Wonderfully tenacious endurance. New troops are constantly arriving to reinforce the Allies; they may come from whence they will, but the Dardanelles will stand firm to the last. The formidable British attempt at Suvla Bay was prematurely announced .as a victory, but that it was a defeat, doubly serious because of enormous losses, was decisively proved. The tenacity of the Turkish defence was combined with lightning-like mobility, and British now admit that tho Suvla Bay enterprise finally failed. A TURKISH REPORT. Received Sept. 14, 10 p.m. Amsterdam, Sept. M. Armenians in Geneva have issued an appeal to the civilised world, for an effort to save the remnants of a martyred people. The inhabitants of Armenia have been driven into the interior of Mesopotamia and most of the ablebodied men massacred. The Daily Telegraph's Athens correspondent reports that a Turkish official source states that the higher German command has notified Berlin that the army cannot continue beyond September 25.
