FRONTIER TROUBLE. RAIDING TRIBESMEN PUNISHED. Calcutta, Sept. 13. Details of the Shabkadia fighting show that ten thousand Mohmande were raiding the border, burning villages and seizing women and children. The climax came on the sth, when General Campbell attacked on a front of four miles. By clever tactics the enemy was drawn from the trenches and driven to a common centre, around which the British formed a crescent like a Zulu impi. General Campbell's big guns showered a storm of lyddite. The fight lasted six hours and the enemy lost 1200 killed and wounded. It was noticeable that the enemy's shooting was accurate, and they showed disciplined formation while attacking. The enemy evacuated the position on the Oth.
