STIFF FIGHTING. ANOTHER FAILURE OP THE CROWN PRINCE. Paris, Sept. 12. The Crown Prince has made repeated attempts to break the French lines in the Argonne by means of powerful artillery and large numbers of troops, but without appreciable result. The GerGermans sustained greater losses than they inflicted, and the efforts were abandoned. A communique states that great artillery activity continues in the Artois region, southward of the Somme and the environs of Roye. The enemy on the Aisne and Marne canal made two attempts to surprise our advanced posts near Sapigneul, but failed completely. FRENCH REPORT. ENEMY BOMB HOSPITALS. Paris, Sept. 11. A communique states: We crushed an attempt to attack near Sedkhubert and completely repulsed a verv violent attack at Hartmanns Wielerkopf. German aeroplanes bombed Compeigne, aiming particularly at the hospitals, but there were no casualties. We brought down an Aviatik near St. Ewe, taking the airman prisoner. LIVELY CANNONADING. , Paris, Se]?t. 1)1. A communique ' says: The artillery cannonade continues uninterruptedly at night, and is particularly lively in the Artois region, south of Arras and east of Eparges.
